Houthi militants have launched an attack on the strategic port of Mocha, located on the Red Sea coast and currently under the control of the Yemeni government.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing a statement from the Yemeni Armed Forces published by The Times of Israel, that the assault resulted in at least one fatality among security personnel.

According to the report, the Houthis fired six ballistic missiles at the port facility. The attack left eight people injured, while two marines remain missing.

The port of Mocha holds significant strategic importance in the ongoing Yemeni conflict due to its location on the Red Sea, a vital maritime corridor for international trade. The Houthis, an Iran-backed rebel group, have frequently targeted government-controlled infrastructure and commercial shipping in the area, contributing to persistent instability in the region.
