A tragic aviation accident has occurred in India, resulting in multiple fatalities.
The Operative Information Center-OMM, citing India Today, reports that a Beechcraft C90 air ambulance belonging to Redbird Airways crashed in the state of Jharkhand. The aircraft was reportedly transporting a patient along with medical personnel and flight crew when the incident took place.
According to a statement from India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the plane disappeared from radar screens approximately 20 minutes after taking off from Ranchi, the state capital. Following an intensive search operation, the wreckage of the aircraft was located in the Chatra district.
Chatra District Commissioner Keerthishree G confirmed that all seven individuals on board the aircraft lost their lives in the crash. Authorities have launched a large-scale investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident, focusing on potential technical failures or adverse weather conditions.
Air ambulance services in India play a critical role in transporting patients from remote regions to specialized medical centers in major cities. Jharkhand, located in eastern India, is characterized by its hilly terrain and dense forests, which can often present challenging conditions for low-altitude aviation and emergency rescue operations.
