Hindistan yerli "ağıllı bomba" sistemini sınaqdan keçirdi

The Indian Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Indian Air Force have successfully conducted the maiden flight tests of a new indigenously developed guided bomb system.

According to a statement from the Indian Ministry of Defense reported by the Operative Information Center-OMM, the tests were carried out off the coast of Odisha. The system, known as Tactical Advanced Range Augmentation (TARA), represents one of India's first domestic guided weapon solutions designed to convert unguided warheads into high-precision munitions.

The Ministry of Defense highlighted that the TARA system aims to increase the effectiveness and accuracy of relatively low-cost munitions intended for destroying ground targets. This technology is regarded as one of the first aerial weapon systems to utilize advanced solutions based on energy efficiency, significantly enhancing the operational capabilities of the Indian Air Force.

The development of the TARA system is part of India's broader strategy to achieve self-reliance in defense production under the "Make in India" initiative. By creating indigenous kits that can upgrade existing stockpiles of conventional bombs, India follows a global trend of modernizing military hardware through cost-effective precision technology. This successful test underscores the growing technical expertise of DRDO in developing sophisticated guidance systems that reduce dependence on foreign military imports, further strengthening the country's strategic autonomy.
