President Ilham Aliyev has achieved victory in both war and peace, according to Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration.
As reported by the Operative Information Center-OMM, Hajiyev shared these remarks on his official "X" (formerly Twitter) account. Reflecting on the significance of the diplomatic milestones reached, he noted, "President Ilham Aliyev has won both the war and the peace. It has been one year since the Washington summit," accompanying his statement with a video commemorating the first anniversary of the Washington peace summit.
The Washington peace summit, held last year, represented a critical juncture in the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Facilitated by international partners, such dialogues are central to Azerbaijan's ongoing efforts to secure long-term stability and regional integration in the South Caucasus. President Aliyev's dual emphasis on military victory during the 44-day Patriotic War and subsequent diplomatic efforts underscores the administration's strategic focus on establishing a sustainable, lasting peace in the Garabagh region.
