Gultekin Hajibeyli has been deported from Turkiye to Azerbaijan following a legal process initiated by Turkish authorities. According to Operative Information Center-OMM, the deportation process took place during the overnight hours, resulting in her return to Baku.
As of now, Hajibeyli has not been involved in any active investigation in Azerbaijan, and no restrictive measures or preventive actions have been taken against her by local law enforcement. The politician was previously detained on November 30 last year at her residence in Istanbul, subsequently being transferred to a police station and then to the Catalca Removal Center.
According to statements shared on her social media accounts, the Ankara Court issued a G-82 code against her, which pertains to allegations of membership in a foreign terrorist organization posing a threat to national security. The G-82 restriction code is applied to foreign nationals identified as acting against national security interests; it entails an indefinite entry ban and immediate deportation from Turkish territory.
The deportation comes amid long-standing media reports and allegations involving Gultekin Hajibeyli and other members of the National Council, including PFPA chairman Ali Kerimli. These reports have suggested potential links to alleged coup attempt plans involving former officials. In Azerbaijan, the legal status of such individuals remains a subject of public interest within the framework of national security and political stability.
