OTS foreign ministers meet in Turkistan to boost cooperation

Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov participated in the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) held in Turkistan, Kazakhstan. The meeting took place within the framework of the informal OTS Summit currently underway in the historic city.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) reported that Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized the necessity of strengthening solidarity and coordination among Turkic states in the face of rising geopolitical uncertainties, hybrid threats, and global security challenges. The Minister highlighted the strategic role of the Middle Corridor and the "Digital Silk Road" project, which includes the Trans-Caspian fiber-optic cable initiative. Furthermore, he informed his counterparts about Azerbaijan's Action Plan for Accelerating Digital Development for 2026–2028, as well as the "smart" reconstruction and restoration work being carried out in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan.

The Organization of Turkic States, which serves as a primary platform for cooperation among Turkic-speaking nations, continues to prioritize economic integration and regional connectivity. This gathering in Turkistan underscores the member states' commitment to digital transformation and technological innovation, including cooperation in artificial intelligence. The discussions also touched upon the upcoming 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) to be hosted in Baku, which reflects Azerbaijan's vision for sustainable urban development within the region.
