A total of 13,845 students have been admitted to master's degree programs in Azerbaijan following the general competition, according to the State Examination Center (DİM).

The Operative Information Center-OMM received these figures from the DİM. Of the admitted students, 6,580 will study under state-funded quotas, 52 will be funded through the state account, and 7,213 will study on a paid basis. The cohort consists of 10,510 current university graduates and 3,335 graduates from previous years.

The DİM noted that compared to the previous year, the number of candidates participating in the specialization selection increased by 166. Following the primary placement phase, the number of master's degree admissions rose by 399 compared to the previous year. Notably, 834 more students secured tuition-free education this year compared to the previous academic cycle.

According to the 2026 results, 13,845 out of 17,658 available master's degree slots were filled, representing a 78.41% occupancy rate. In the previous year, the figure stood at 79.81% of 16,848 slots. The DİM clarified that a certain number of vacancies were anticipated, as the total number of applicants selecting specializations was 15,721, while the total capacity offered was 17,658.

The State Examination Center plays a critical role in the educational landscape of Azerbaijan, overseeing the centralized admission process for higher education institutions to ensure transparency and merit-based selection for both bachelor's and master's degree programs.
