Disturbances in the Earth's magnetic field are forecasted for April 18–19 due to the emergence of a coronal hole on the Sun.
The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences have issued a joint warning regarding the upcoming solar activity.
Geomagnetic storms are temporary disturbances of the Earth's magnetosphere caused by solar wind shock waves and clouds of magnetic fields that interact with the Earth's magnetic field. These events can impact satellite operations, radio communications, and power grids. Additionally, such fluctuations may affect weather-sensitive individuals, potentially causing headaches or blood pressure changes. In Azerbaijan and other regions, monitoring of solar activity continues to provide early warnings for infrastructure operators and the public.
