Elvin Jafarguliyev, a key defender for the Azerbaijan national football team and the Aghdam-based club Qarabag, has successfully undergone surgery, the club's press service announced.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the medical procedure was performed following an injury sustained during the return leg of the UEFA Conference League third qualifying round match against Dynamo Kyiv.
The injury, which occurred during the match held on August 13, was diagnosed as a tear in the distal tendon of the semitendinosus muscle, part of the hamstring group in his left thigh. The club confirmed that the surgery was completed successfully, and Jafarguliyev has now entered the rehabilitation phase.
The player's recovery and treatment process will be closely monitored by Qarabag's medical staff. Jafarguliyev is a prominent figure in Azerbaijani football, known for his consistent performances both domestically and in European competitions, where Qarabag frequently represents the country on the international stage.
