The forces of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) have continued operations to eliminate the consequences of heavy rainfall in the cities of Baku and Sumgait, as well as the Absheron district. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, a total of 33 citizens were evacuated to safe areas as a result of the measures taken by rescue teams.
Currently, MES personnel are continuing efforts to evacuate citizens in need of assistance and are implementing other necessary safety measures across the affected zones. The ministry has deployed specialized equipment and manpower to pump out rainwater from flooded residential areas and infrastructure facilities to ensure the restoration of normal living conditions.
Heavy seasonal rains in Azerbaijan often impact the Absheron Peninsula, necessitating rapid response from emergency services to prevent damage to property and ensure public safety. The Ministry of Emergency Situations remains on high alert, coordinating with local executive authorities to monitor the situation in the capital and neighboring industrial hubs like Sumgait and the broader Absheron region.
