Fakhraddin Najaf oglu Ismayilov has been recalled from his position as the Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan to the Council of Europe.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree regarding this diplomatic reassignment.
In a separate decree, the head of state appointed Fakhraddin Ismayilov as the Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan to UNESCO. This transition marks a significant shift in Azerbaijan's diplomatic representation, as the country continues to actively engage with international organizations to promote its cultural heritage and national interests on the global stage.
UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, plays a pivotal role in the preservation of world heritage sites and the promotion of intercultural dialogue. Azerbaijan has maintained a long-standing partnership with the organization, frequently collaborating on projects related to the protection of historical monuments and the promotion of intangible cultural heritage, particularly following the restoration of the liberated territories in the Garabagh region.
