"The large-scale tour program implemented by the Ministry of Culture since March of this year is a very significant event for the cultural life of our country. This is the first major tour initiative in Azerbaijan in terms of both the number of leading artistic groups involved and the geography of the regions it covers."
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that these views were expressed by the prominent composer, pianist, and pedagogue, People's Artist and Presidential Pensioner Faiq Sujaddinov in a statement to the media.
The People's Artist emphasized that the performances of major artistic groups from the capital in various regions will play a vital role in shaping the artistic and aesthetic tastes of local residents. According to Sujaddinov, the tour program will simultaneously contribute to the promotion of Azerbaijan's rich art in the regions and serve as a catalyst for talented children and youth to pursue careers in the arts.
"The significance of the tour program also lies in the fact that audiences will have the opportunity to experience a cultural wealth ranging from symphonic and chamber music to mugham, choral, and dance arts. As an artist, this project by the Ministry of Culture pleases me greatly, and I heartily applaud this initiative. I would very much like this project to be sustainable," People's Artist Faiq Sujaddinov stated.
The regional tour project initiated by the Ministry of Culture aims to decentralize cultural activities in Azerbaijan, ensuring that high-quality artistic performances are accessible beyond the capital, Baku. By bringing state-level ensembles to remote districts, the initiative seeks to preserve national heritage and foster a unified cultural space across the Republic of Azerbaijan. Such programs are part of a broader state strategy to support the creative industries and encourage cultural engagement among all citizens.
