Three additional employees of the Swiss Embassy in Tehran have been evacuated from Iran, entering the territory of Azerbaijan.

According to Operative Information Center-OMM, citing AZERTAC, the diplomats safely crossed the Iranian border and entered Azerbaijan through the Astara state border checkpoint. The evacuation process was conducted following standard document verification, registration, and other necessary legal procedures. All essential measures were implemented at the checkpoint to ensure a secure and efficient transition for the diplomatic personnel.

Following the completion of registration protocols, the embassy staff were safely dispatched toward their final destinations. The evacuation process at the Astara state border checkpoint continues without interruption, with all crossings being managed under the strict supervision of relevant Azerbaijani authorities in accordance with established international procedures.

The Astara border crossing serves as a vital transit point between Azerbaijan and Iran, frequently utilized for international diplomatic movements and regional trade. Azerbaijan has repeatedly demonstrated its role as a stable transit hub for international missions and diplomatic staff during periods of regional volatility. The Swiss Embassy in Tehran also represents the diplomatic interests of several other nations in Iran, making the safe passage of its personnel a matter of significant international coordination.
