Operative Information Center-OMM reports that June 6 marks a "day of silence" in Armenia, during which all election campaigning and political agitation are strictly prohibited by law.
Under the current electoral framework, at least 105 deputies will be elected to the Armenian parliament, which operates on a proportional representation system based solely on party lists. A total of 18 political entities—comprising 16 parties and two alliances—are vying for seats in the 9th convocation of the National Assembly. To secure parliamentary representation, parties must surpass a 4 percent threshold, while alliances are required to meet an 8 percent threshold.
Public discourse and media analysis have identified three primary contenders in the race: the "Civil Contract" party led by incumbent Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the "Strong Armenia" alliance led by Samvel Karapetyan, and the "Armenia" alliance led by former President Robert Kocharyan.
