Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has underscored the urgent need to achieve concrete results in resolving the Russia-Ukraine war in the near future. During a recent address, the Turkish leader formally called on both parties to engage in constructive dialogue to end the hostilities.
“I want to emphasize that in the coming period, we must achieve positive results in settling the Russia-Ukraine war through dialogue,” Erdogan stated.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Ankara continues to intensify its efforts to contribute to a peaceful resolution of the conflict. Turkey’s ability to maintain constructive dialogue with both Russia and Ukraine, while retaining the trust of both sides, is widely regarded as a critical factor in the ongoing diplomatic process.
Reports indicate that Turkey has consistently pursued initiatives to resolve the conflict through negotiations, including recent diplomatic efforts in April. Ankara has expressed its firm intention to strengthen mediation efforts aimed at resuming high-level talks between the leadership of both nations. Turkey has historically played a pivotal role in regional diplomacy, notably hosting the Istanbul peace talks in 2022, which remain a significant reference point in international efforts to de-escalate the ongoing crisis.
