Ankarada meşəlik ərazilərə giriş 30 sentyabradək qadağan edildi

Entry to all forest areas within the borders of Ankara, with the exception of national parks, recreation zones, and nature parks, has been banned until September 30. The measure aims to mitigate the risk of wildfires during the peak summer and early autumn season.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Turkish media reported that the decision was prompted by increased human and vehicle density in forested areas, coupled with persistent meteorological conditions that elevate the risk of forest fires across Türkiye. The ban, which took effect on June 1, covers activities such as burning stubble, agricultural waste, and garden debris, as well as the use of fireworks in areas adjacent to forests.

Under the new regulations, camping and setting up tents are prohibited except in designated facilities. Within authorized recreation areas and national parks, the use of stoves, grills, and barbecues is restricted to specifically allocated spots between 09:00 and 22:00. Access for forestry workers and authorized personnel remains permitted, while industrial facilities near forests are required to implement preventive fire safety measures. Energy transmission providers are also tasked with maintaining lines passing through forest zones to prevent sparks or technical failures that could ignite blazes.

Wildfires are a recurring challenge for Türkiye during the summer months due to high temperatures and low humidity. In recent years, the country has intensified its fire prevention strategies, including stricter access controls and enhanced aerial surveillance. Ankara, as the capital and a major administrative hub, implements these seasonal restrictions to protect its ecological zones and ensure public safety during periods of extreme heat.
