Teachers recruited through the centralized Teacher Recruitment Examination (MIQ) demonstrate significantly higher subject knowledge and professional competence, according to Azerbaijan's Minister of Science and Education, Emin Amrullayev.
As reported by the Operative Information Center-OMM, the minister made these remarks during an event themed "Certification: Competent Teacher - Quality Education."
Amrullayev highlighted a clear correlation between the recruitment process and subsequent performance in certification exams. He noted that teachers who entered the profession via the MIQ system achieved an average score of 51 in certification, compared to an average of 42 for those who did not participate in the MIQ process.
"Teachers who previously participated in MIQ exams and scored 30 or more points have shown significantly higher results in the certification process, with a 99% passing rate. Notably, 62% of this group achieved a score of 51 or higher in the certification exam. Consequently, the MIQ system is successfully attracting more qualified educators to the sector," the minister stated.
The certification of educators in Azerbaijan is a strategic initiative aimed at assessing the professional skills and subject knowledge of teachers currently working in public schools. This process is part of broader educational reforms in the country designed to enhance the quality of instruction and ensure that teaching standards align with modern pedagogical requirements.
