In the first seven months of this year, Azerbaijan produced a gross domestic product (GDP) totaling 76 billion 817.7 million manats. This data was reported by the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
According to the official report, this figure represents a 1.4% increase compared to the same period of the previous year. The economic growth was primarily driven by the non-oil and gas sector, which saw its value rise by 2.2% to reach 53 billion 901.2 million manats. Conversely, the value of the oil and gas GDP experienced a slight decline of 0.6%, amounting to 22 billion 916.5 million manats.
The State Statistical Committee's report highlights broad-based growth across several key sectors during the seven-month period. Industrial production value increased by 0.3% year-on-year to 38 billion 902.4 million manats, with the non-oil and gas industrial sector showing a robust growth of 4.4%. Furthermore, agricultural production rose by 2.8% to 8 billion 797.2 million manats. The service sectors also demonstrated strong performance, with transportation and warehousing services growing by 7.1% to 9 billion 206.6 million manats, and information and communication services recording a significant 10.4% increase, totaling 2 billion 378.6 million manats.
These figures reflect the ongoing efforts of the Azerbaijani government to diversify the national economy and reduce reliance on hydrocarbon exports. By prioritizing the development of the non-oil sector, including agriculture, technology, and logistics, the country aims to ensure sustainable long-term economic stability and resilience against global market fluctuations.
