Azerbaijan produced gross domestic product (GDP) worth 18 billion 473.1 million manats in January-February 2026, marking a 0.3 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
The State Statistical Committee told Operative Information Center-OMM that while value-added in the oil and gas sector decreased by 1.7 percent, the non-oil and gas sector saw a growth of 1.4 percent. According to the official data, the industrial sector accounted for 32.7 percent of the GDP, followed by trade and vehicle repair at 11.4 percent, transport and warehousing at 7.5 percent, construction at 3.9 percent, agriculture, forestry, and fishing at 3.2 percent, tourist accommodation and public catering at 2.8 percent, and information and communication at 2.1 percent. Other sectors contributed 24.1 percent, while net taxes on products and imports made up 12.3 percent of the total GDP.
The continued growth in the non-oil sector reflects Azerbaijan's ongoing economic diversification strategy aimed at reducing dependence on hydrocarbon exports. By prioritizing sectors such as logistics, tourism, and digital infrastructure, Azerbaijan seeks to ensure long-term sustainable development and strengthen its position as a regional economic hub in the South Caucasus. This statistical trend aligns with the government's broader socio-economic development goals for 2022-2026, which emphasize private sector expansion and investment in liberated territories.
