Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov of Azerbaijan and his Bahraini counterpart, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, have held a telephone conversation to discuss the escalating situation in the Middle East.
The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement regarding the call. During the conversation, the ministers exchanged views on the recent military escalation in the Middle East region, the increasing tension in the security environment, and its potential consequences.
The ministers expressed serious concern over the rapidly changing situation in the region, emphasizing that further escalation could lead to undesirable consequences for regional stability and security. They noted that de-escalation measures are of an urgent nature and highlighted the importance of keeping diplomatic channels open while promoting dialogue and negotiation processes.
Furthermore, the necessity of adhering to the norms and principles of international humanitarian law, as well as the protection of civilians and infrastructure, was brought to attention. The parties also exchanged views on other regional and international issues of mutual interest.
