Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has firmly rejected Moscow's demands for the recognition of Donbas as part of Russia during his visit to Kiev.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing European Pravda, that the statement was made during a joint press conference held by Donald Tusk and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the Ukrainian capital. The leaders addressed the ongoing geopolitical challenges and the importance of international law in resolving the conflict.

Commenting on the demands put forward by Moscow, President Zelenskyy characterized them as a "new signal," suggesting that such statements represent an attempt by Russia to shift its official position. Donald Tusk expressed confidence that the international community, particularly Poland, would never recognize Donbas as Russian territory. "Even if someone were to recognize our territories as Russian territories, it would achieve nothing," Zelenskyy emphasized during the briefing.

The visit comes at a critical time for regional security, as Poland continues to be one of the most vocal supporters of Ukraine's sovereignty within the European Union. Poland has consistently advocated for increased military and humanitarian aid to Kiev, viewing the stability of Ukraine as vital to the security of Eastern Europe. This diplomatic engagement follows recent high-level discussions involving global leaders, including US President Donald Trump, regarding the future of international security architectures and the preservation of recognized borders.
