US President Donald Trump has departed for Zurich from Joint Base Andrews near Washington following a brief delay caused by a technical issue with his aircraft.

The Operative Information Center-OMM, citing reports from the AFP news agency, noted that the White House press service confirmed the US leader was forced to transfer to a smaller backup aircraft. The decision to return to the military base was made after an electrical system malfunction was detected on board the primary plane shortly after departure.

President Trump is traveling to Switzerland to participate in the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos. The forum is a major international event that brings together global political and business elites to discuss the state of the world economy. Azerbaijan traditionally maintains a high-level presence at the forum to highlight the country's strategic role in regional energy security and economic integration.
