Recent observations indicate a significant increase in violations of legal requirements regarding the registration of foreigners and stateless persons residing in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the State Migration Service (SMS) has issued an official statement addressing this trend.
The SMS emphasized that, in accordance with the Migration Code of Azerbaijan, any foreigner or stateless person staying in the country for more than 15 days must be registered at their place of residence.
"In this regard, the SMS calls on foreigners or stateless persons staying in Azerbaijan for more than 15 days, as well as the receiving party, to strictly comply with the requirements of migration legislation," the statement read.
To facilitate registration, the receiving party must submit the appropriate application form and a copy of the foreigner's passport or other travel document to the State Migration Service within 15 days of the individual's arrival. It is important to note that there is no state fee for the registration of foreigners and stateless persons at their place of residence.
The State Migration Service further warned that failure to register within the stipulated timeframe serves as grounds for holding both the foreign nationals and the receiving party administratively liable under Azerbaijani law. These regulations are part of the broader framework managed by the State Migration Service to ensure transparency and security within the country's migration system.
