Former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has expressed skepticism regarding reports suggesting that US President Donald Trump has fundamentally altered his position on the conflict in Ukraine.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing international media reports, Kuleba addressed speculation surrounding the US leader's recent statements.

Kuleba argued that President Trump's remarks during the G7 summit in Evian, France, were likely tailored to the audience rather than indicative of a long-term strategic pivot. When asked whether the US leader had softened his stance on Ukraine, Kuleba characterized the comments as temporary and context-dependent.

“I think this is a temporary statement made at the right place and at the right time. He came to the G7 summit and said what the other participants wanted to hear,” Kuleba noted.

The context for these remarks stems from comments made by French President Emmanuel Macron on June 19, following the G7 summit in Evian. Macron suggested that summit participants had successfully influenced President Trump to shift his position on the Ukraine conflict. These claims have fueled recent speculation in Western media regarding a potential change in the US administration's approach to the ongoing crisis in Eastern Europe.

The G7, or Group of Seven, is an intergovernmental political forum consisting of seven of the world's largest advanced economies. It frequently serves as a platform for coordinating international policy on major geopolitical issues, including the conflict in Ukraine, which remains a central topic of discussion in transatlantic relations.
