Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has issued a stark warning regarding the escalating involvement of North Korean military personnel in the ongoing conflict within Russia.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing international media reports, President Zelenskyy stated that the number of North Korean troops deployed to Russia could potentially reach 50,000 personnel.
Highlighting critical shortages in air defense capabilities, the Ukrainian leader has appealed to South Korea for increased support. Zelenskyy emphasized that this deployment provides North Korean forces with invaluable modern combat experience while allowing Pyongyang to secure advanced military technologies from Moscow in exchange for their participation.
Ukrainian military intelligence officials have reported that a North Korean missile unit has begun moving toward Russia's western regions. Intelligence assessments suggest this unit could be equipped with up to 120 ballistic missiles and six launch systems. Previous reports indicated that North Korea had already deployed approximately 14,000 troops to the Kursk region, where they have reportedly sustained significant casualties. Furthermore, Pyongyang has allegedly supplied Russia with millions of rounds of ammunition, ballistic missiles, and multiple launch rocket systems to bolster its ongoing military operations.
The deployment of North Korean troops to the front lines marks a significant escalation in the conflict, drawing international concern regarding the deepening military cooperation between Moscow and Pyongyang.
