Mark Rutte NATO-nun qarşısındakı əsas vəzifəni açıqladı

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has stated that the alliance's primary objective, ahead of any future peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, is to significantly strengthen Ukraine's strategic position.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Rutte discussed the alliance's stance in an interview with the Financial Times.

Rutte noted that while Ukraine has achieved certain successes during the conflict—a fact acknowledged by US President Donald Trump during a recent meeting at the White House—these developments do not necessarily imply that Russia is prepared to make concessions in potential peace talks. The NATO Secretary General emphasized that the alliance's main goal remains maximizing Ukraine's defense capabilities to ensure it enters any future negotiations from the most advantageous position possible.

Furthermore, the NATO chief indicated that the final decision regarding the cessation of hostilities rests with Russian President Vladimir Putin, noting that Moscow's willingness to engage in genuine negotiations remains uncertain.

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), established in 1949, serves as a collective security alliance. Its current focus on Ukraine reflects the organization's broader commitment to European security and the principle of territorial integrity. Recent reports from various media outlets, including Boulevard Voltaire, have suggested that the possibility of direct confrontation between Europe and Russia may be a topic of discussion at upcoming alliance summits, highlighting the heightened geopolitical tensions in the region.
