On February 9, Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received a delegation from the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations currently visiting the country.
The Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told Operative Information Center-OMM that the meeting focused on the current state and development prospects of Azerbaijan-US and Azerbaijan-Israel relations. The parties also discussed cooperation with Jewish organizations operating in the United States and the broader regional situation.
During the meeting, Jeyhun Bayramov provided detailed information on recent regional developments, particularly in the context of the August 8 Washington Summit. Discussions covered the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process, regional communications, and efforts to realize the TRIPP route, as well as measures implemented in the post-conflict period following the liberation of Azerbaijani territories.
The participants emphasized with satisfaction the traditions of interfaith harmony, tolerance, and multiculturalism in Azerbaijan. It was noted that in a country with a Muslim-majority population, Christians, Jews, and representatives of other religions live in conditions of mutual understanding and good neighborliness.
It was further highlighted that the Jewish community, which has lived in peace and tranquility in Azerbaijan for centuries, makes a special contribution to the development of the Azerbaijan-Israel partnership. The meeting also included an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.
Azerbaijan maintains a strategic partnership with Israel, characterized by deep cooperation in energy, security, and technology. This relationship is bolstered by the active role of the Jewish diaspora in the United States, which serves as a bridge for strengthening bilateral ties between Baku and Washington. The TRIPP (Trans-Regional Interconnection and Partnership Project) route remains a key priority for Azerbaijan as it seeks to enhance its role as a global logistics and energy hub connecting East and West.
