The United Kingdom supports the inclusion of Lebanon in the ceasefire agreement reached with Iran to prevent further escalation in the region.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper shared these remarks during an interview with Sky News. The Foreign Secretary expressed deep concern over the intensifying military situation and its impact on civilian populations.

"I express my deep concern over the increase in Israeli strikes we witnessed in Lebanon yesterday. We are seeing the humanitarian consequences and the mass displacement of people in Lebanon. Therefore, we strongly support the extension of the ceasefire to Lebanon as well," Cooper stated. The Foreign Secretary also emphasized the importance of maintaining the current ceasefire regime regarding Iran and ensuring that the Strait of Hormuz remains open for international navigation.

The call for a broader ceasefire comes amid heightened tensions in the Middle East, where diplomatic efforts are being intensified to prevent a wider regional conflict. The Strait of Hormuz remains a critical global maritime chokepoint, through which a significant portion of the world's oil supply passes. International observers note that stabilizing the situation in Lebanon is vital for ensuring long-term security and addressing the growing humanitarian crisis in the Levant.
