Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli, Vice President for the Caspian, Central Asia, and Turkey region at BP, has been awarded the "Shohrat" (Glory) Order.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree to this effect.
Under the terms of the decree, Aslanbayli received the high state honor in recognition of his significant contributions to the development of the oil industry in Azerbaijan. The award coincides with his 50th birthday, which he celebrates tomorrow.
The "Shohrat" Order is one of the highest state decorations in Azerbaijan, awarded to individuals for exceptional achievements in various fields, including industry, science, and culture. BP has maintained a long-standing strategic partnership with Azerbaijan, playing a pivotal role in the country's energy sector since the signing of the "Contract of the Century" in 1994, which marked the beginning of large-scale international cooperation in the development of the Caspian Sea's hydrocarbon resources.
