Azerbaijan is consistently implementing a policy of an open economy and the promotion of entrepreneurial activity, Prime Minister Ali Asadov stated during the V Tashkent International Investment Forum.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the head of government emphasized that over the past 20 years, more than $350 billion has been invested in the country's economy, with nearly half of this amount attributed to foreign investments.
"A modern legislative framework has been established in Azerbaijan that ensures the reliable protection of investors' rights, guarantees the inviolability of investments, allows for the free movement of capital, and provides equal conditions for all market participants. Azerbaijan's key competitive advantage is its unique geographical location at the intersection of major Eurasian transport routes. Consistently implemented infrastructure projects have turned our country into one of the most important transport and logistics hubs in the region," the Prime Minister noted.
Prime Minister Ali Asadov further highlighted that Azerbaijan continues to invest significant financial resources into the development of modern transport infrastructure, including seaports, railways, and highways, which contributes to "strengthening regional connectivity and expanding business opportunities."
Regarding future economic priorities, the Prime Minister identified the development of green energy as a highly promising sector for investment. "Azerbaijan has set ambitious goals to increase the share of renewable energy sources in the national energy balance. Large-scale projects in solar and wind energy are being implemented, leading international companies are being engaged, and new opportunities are being created for investors," he added.
The Tashkent International Investment Forum serves as a key platform for regional dialogue, bringing together government officials, international investors, and business leaders to discuss economic integration and investment climates across Central Asia and the Caucasus.
