Heavy traffic congestion has been reported on several major highways and inner-city streets in Baku.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Intelligent Transport Management Center (ITMC) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has released an update regarding the current road situation in the capital. The center is monitoring the flow of vehicles to ensure safety and manage the increased volume of traffic during peak hours.
Current areas of congestion in the capital:
Based on the statement from the ITMC, difficulties in traffic movement are currently observed in the following directions:
- Baku–Sumgait highway – in the direction of the "20 January" metro station;
- Tbilisi Avenue – from the intersection with Izmir Street toward the "20 January" metro station;
- 28 May Street – from the intersection with Pushkin Street to Rashid Behbudov Street;
- "Ukraine" circle – in the direction of the "Ahmedli" metro station;
- Mikayil Mushfiq Street – from the "Badamdar" circle toward School-Lyceum No. 20;
- Binagadi highway – in the direction of the "Azadliq Avenue" metro station;
- 1st Gol Kenari road – in the direction of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
- Sabunchu–Zabrat highway – in the direction of the "Koroglu" metro station;
- Airport highway – in the direction of the "Koroglu" metro station;
- Yusif Safarov Street – in the direction of the city center.
The ITMC advises drivers to use alternative routes where possible, strictly adhere to traffic regulations, and remain vigilant while driving. The Ministry of Internal Affairs continues to utilize the Intelligent Transport Management Center's network of cameras and sensors to provide real-time updates to the public, aiming to reduce travel time and prevent accidents in the metropolitan area of Azerbaijan.
