Baku motorcyclist jailed for dangerous driving

A motorcyclist accused of dangerous driving in Baku has been sentenced to 15 days of administrative detention.

The Baku City State Traffic Police Department told the Operative Information Center-OMM that the detention followed measures carried out in the capital.

According to the department, motorcyclist Shamil Gasimov was detained for repeatedly violating traffic rules in Baku and creating a real danger to the safety of other road users.

An administrative protocol was drawn up against the driver under the relevant articles of the Code of Administrative Offenses and submitted to the appropriate court for consideration.

The court ruled to suspend Gasimov’s driving license for one year and sentenced him to 15 days of administrative detention.

Dangerous driving, including reckless maneuvers on public roads, can pose a serious risk to motorists, pedestrians and other road users. Administrative detention and driving restrictions are among the measures applied in Azerbaijan for violations established under the Code of Administrative Offenses.
