Traffic congestion has been reported on several major roads in Baku, impacting the morning commute for many residents.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Intelligent Transport Management Center (ITMC) has issued an official update regarding the current traffic situation in the capital.
As of the latest report, significant delays are being observed in the following areas:
- Baku-Sumgait highway, in the direction of the "20 January" metro station;
- Tbilisi Avenue, from the "20 January" metro station towards the city center;
- 1st Lake Side Road, in the direction of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
- Ziya Bunyadov Avenue, specifically from the intersection with Ahmad Rajabli Street to the intersection with Ataturk Avenue.
The Intelligent Transport Management Center (ITMC) is responsible for monitoring traffic flow across the Republic of Azerbaijan. The center utilizes advanced surveillance and digital infrastructure to manage urban mobility, aiming to reduce congestion and improve road safety in Baku, which has seen a significant increase in vehicle ownership over the past decade due to rapid urbanization and economic development.
