Azərbaycan İrandan diplomatlarını geri çağırır - Rəsmi qərar

Azerbaijan is withdrawing its entire diplomatic staff from Iran following an official state decision.

According to Operative Information Center-OMM, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov made the announcement during a joint press briefing in Baku with Mihai Popșoi, Moldova's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The minister stated that President Ilham Aliyev has ordered the full evacuation of diplomatic personnel from the neighboring country. "This process applies to both the embassy in Tehran and the consulate general in Tabriz. Work is currently underway in this direction," Jeyhun Bayramov added.

The decision comes amid a period of heightened diplomatic sensitivity in the region. Azerbaijan maintains a principled foreign policy focused on the security of its diplomatic missions and the protection of its national interests abroad. Historically, diplomatic relations between Baku and Tehran have been shaped by regional security dynamics and bilateral commitments, with the safety of diplomatic staff remaining a top priority for the Republic of Azerbaijan.
