The State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing, and Urban Development of Kenya have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance bilateral ties.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the document was signed within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) being held in Baku. The memorandum establishes a strategic framework for cooperation in urban planning, the exchange of expertise in housing policy, and the implementation of modern architectural standards between the two nations.

The World Urban Forum, established by the United Nations, is the premier global conference on sustainable urbanization. By hosting WUF13 in the capital, Azerbaijan continues to strengthen its international standing as a hub for global dialogue on urban challenges. This partnership with Kenya reflects Azerbaijan's broader strategy to expand diplomatic and economic cooperation with African nations, sharing its experience in large-scale urban restoration and sustainable development projects.
