Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan discuss military education reforms

A delegation led by Major General Baurjan Abjanov, Rector of the National Defense University of Kazakhstan, has paid an official visit to Azerbaijan to discuss bilateral cooperation and reforms in military education.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan reported that the delegation was received by Major General Gunduz Abdulov, Rector of Azerbaijan's National Defense University. During the meeting, the Kazakh delegation was briefed on the history, educational system, and primary activities of the university, as well as the ongoing reforms and positive outcomes achieved in the field of military education within the Azerbaijani Army.

During the visit, the delegation toured the War Games Center, the Military Institute named after Heydar Aliyev, and the Military High School named after Jamshid Nakhchivanski to familiarize themselves with the available facilities. They also visited the Heydar Aliyev Museum and the Victory Museum, where they were briefed on the historic victory of Azerbaijan in the Patriotic War.

Military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan has been steadily expanding, encompassing joint military exercises, staff consultations, and educational exchanges. Following the 2020 Patriotic War, Azerbaijan has actively modernized its military education system, transitioning toward advanced standards to enhance the professional capabilities of its armed forces.
