Azerbaijan is set to begin an 11-day consecutive holiday period starting tomorrow, encompassing both Novruz and Ramadan celebrations, including weekends.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that March 20-24 marks the Novruz holiday. Since March 21 and 22 fall on Saturday and Sunday, in accordance with the Labor Code, March 25 and 26 have also been designated as non-working days.
Furthermore, due to the overlap of Ramadan holiday dates with the existing schedule, the subsequent workdays of March 27 and 30 have been declared holidays. The first official working day following the festivities will be March 31.
Novruz is one of the most significant and cherished holidays in Azerbaijan, symbolizing the arrival of spring, the renewal of nature, and the vernal equinox. Traditionally celebrated with various folk customs and family gatherings, it holds deep cultural roots in the country. This year's holiday season is particularly notable as it aligns with the holy month of Ramadan, leading to an extended break for citizens across the Republic of Azerbaijan as the Cabinet of Ministers adjusts the official calendar to ensure consecutive rest days.
