The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has extended its congratulations to the people and the state of Turkey on the occasion of 30 August – Victory Day of the Republic of Turkey.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the official statement was released via the MFA's social media channels.
“We sincerely congratulate the brotherly people and state of Turkey on the occasion of 30 August – Victory Day of the Republic of Turkey. We honor with deep respect the cherished memory of our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Turkey, and we proudly celebrate the historic Victory won by the unwavering will, determination, and heroism of our brotherly people. Happy Victory Day!” the statement read.
Victory Day in Turkey commemorates the decisive Battle of Dumlupınar in 1922, which marked the final victory in the Turkish War of Independence. This significant historical event is celebrated annually across Turkey and by its allies, symbolizing the nation's commitment to sovereignty and national unity. Azerbaijan and Turkey maintain a unique strategic partnership, often described by the motto "one nation, two states," which underscores their deep-rooted historical, cultural, and political ties.
