Azerbaijan, Armenia foreign ministers discuss normalization

Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan have held a telephone conversation to discuss the ongoing peace process between the two nations.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan released a statement regarding the call. During the conversation, the ministers expressed satisfaction with the positive developments aimed at further advancing the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Jeyhun Bayramov and Ararat Mirzoyan also exchanged views on regional issues and cooperation within the framework of multilateral platforms. The discussion emphasized the importance of maintaining diplomatic momentum to ensure long-term stability in the South Caucasus region.

The normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia follows the restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and focuses on the delimitation of state borders and the opening of regional transport communications. Both sides have recently intensified direct dialogue to finalize a bilateral peace agreement, which is seen as a crucial step toward establishing sustainable peace and economic integration in the region.
