Grain and fertilizer shipments from Russia are set to transit through Azerbaijan en route to Armenia today. This logistical movement follows a new agreement reached between Baku and Moscow regarding regional transport corridors.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the shipment consists of three railcars of wheat, two railcars of barley, and one railcar of fertilizer. The train is scheduled to depart from the Bilajari station of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC at 14:00. It will transit through the Boyuk Kasik station into Georgia before continuing toward its final destination in Armenia.
This transit operation underscores the evolving logistical landscape in the South Caucasus. Azerbaijan, strategically located at the crossroads of East-West and North-South transport corridors, frequently facilitates international transit, leveraging its modernized railway infrastructure to support regional connectivity and trade flows.
