Unusually warm weather conditions are expected to be observed across the territory of Azerbaijan on February 14. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the National Hydrometeorological Service, temperatures in some regions are forecasted to rise as high as 20 degrees Celsius.
In the capital, Baku, and the Absheron Peninsula, the weather is expected to be changeably cloudy and primarily rainless. While a mild south-west wind will blow during the day, it is projected to be replaced by a strengthening north-west wind in the evening hours.
- Temperature: 4-9°C at night, reaching 15-20°C during the day.
- Atmospheric pressure: Will drop from 753 mm to 750 mm Hg.
- Humidity: Will range between 55-65%.
In the regions of Azerbaijan, the weather will also remain mostly dry, although fog may be observed in some areas. The west wind is expected to intensify occasionally in certain districts.
- Lowland regions: 0-5°C at night, 13-18°C during the day.
- Mountainous areas: From 3°C frost to 2°C at night, 8-13°C during the day.
There is a possibility of short-term precipitation and snow in some high-altitude mountainous areas of the country during the day. This sudden warming trend is characteristic of the pre-spring period in Azerbaijan, where fluctuating air masses often bring early mild temperatures before the official start of the season in March. Such thermal anomalies are monitored closely by the National Hydrometeorological Service to provide timely updates for the public and relevant agricultural sectors.
