US President Donald Trump invites Azerbaijan to join new international organization

On January 16, US President Donald Trump announced the establishment of a new international organization named the Peace Council and invited the Republic of Azerbaijan to join the body as a Founding Member State.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Azerbaijan released an official statement regarding the invitation. The Azerbaijani side welcomed the initiative and formally notified the United States of its intention to join the Peace Council as a founding member. The MFA noted that the execution of official procedures regarding the membership has already commenced.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs further detailed that an official letter of confirmation regarding Azerbaijan's membership will be dispatched to the US side, with all necessary steps to be taken within the framework of required international protocols. The Ministry emphasized that Azerbaijan has consistently maintained an active position in strengthening international cooperation and promoting global peace and stability, expressing its readiness to contribute to this new initiative.

The establishment of the Peace Council by US President Donald Trump is viewed as a strategic move to foster multilateral diplomacy and conflict resolution on a global scale. Azerbaijan's inclusion as a founding member underscores the country's growing role as a key mediator and contributor to international security, particularly following its efforts to establish lasting peace in the South Caucasus region. This partnership is expected to further enhance the bilateral relations between Baku and Washington within the framework of global peacekeeping efforts.
