Azerbaijan has officially accepted an invitation from US President Donald Trump to become a founding member of the newly established international organization, the Peace Council.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the Republic of Azerbaijan released a statement confirming that the decision followed an announcement by US President Donald Trump on January 16 regarding the creation of the council. Azerbaijan has formally notified the US side of its intention to join the organization as a Founding Member State.
The MFA stated that an official letter of confirmation will be dispatched to the United States, and all necessary measures will be implemented within the framework of the required procedures: "Azerbaijan, as always, is ready to actively contribute to international cooperation, peace, and stability." This move highlights the strategic dialogue between Baku and Washington and Azerbaijan's proactive stance in global diplomatic initiatives.
The establishment of the Peace Council by the US administration is seen as a significant step toward fostering multilateral diplomacy and addressing global security challenges. Azerbaijan's inclusion as a founding member reflects its increasing influence in the international arena and its commitment to regional security. This development follows Azerbaijan's successful hosting of major international summits and its ongoing efforts to promote peace and reconstruction in the Garabagh region and the wider South Caucasus.
