Azerbaijan exported products worth $788,800 to Armenia over the past year, marking a specific development in regional commercial statistics.
According to the State Customs Committee, as reported by the Operative Information Center-OMM, while Azerbaijani goods were recorded in the export registry, no imports from Armenia to Azerbaijan were documented during the 2025 period.
The data indicates that on December 18, 2024, Azerbaijan dispatched 1,220 tons of AI-95 grade motor fuel to Armenia. This was followed by further shipments in early 2025: on January 9, Armenia imported 1,742 tons of AI-95 gasoline and 956 tons of diesel from Azerbaijan, and on January 11, an additional 979 tons of AI-92 motor fuel were delivered.
In a broader economic context, Azerbaijan's total foreign trade turnover reached $49.423 billion in 2025, representing a 3.8% increase compared to 2024. Within this turnover, exports accounted for $25.043 billion, while imports stood at $24.380 billion. Over the last year, total exports saw a 5.7% decrease, whereas imports rose by 15.8%.
As a result of these shifts in global and regional trade, Azerbaijan maintained a positive trade surplus of $663 million. This figure, however, represents an 8.3-fold decrease compared to the previous year. The government in Baku continues to prioritize the diversification of its export portfolio and the strengthening of its position as a regional logistics and energy hub, particularly following the full restoration of sovereignty over Garabagh.
