Asaf Haji oglu Hajiyev has been awarded the "Shohrat" (Glory) Order, according to a decree signed by President Ilham Aliyev.
As reported by the Operative Information Center-OMM, the award recognizes Hajiyev's effective contributions to the public life of the Republic of Azerbaijan and his significant services in the development of science.
The decoration comes as Asaf Hajiyev celebrates his 75th birthday on May 29. A distinguished public figure, Hajiyev previously served as a deputy in the Milli Majlis (National Assembly) of Azerbaijan during the first, second, and third convocations. Currently, he holds the position of Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC), where he continues to represent Azerbaijan's interests on the international stage.
The "Shohrat" Order is one of the highest state awards in Azerbaijan, presented to individuals for exceptional achievements in various fields, including science, culture, and public service, reflecting the state's commitment to honoring those who contribute to the nation's progress.
