The European Union (EU) strongly condemns the recent drone attack launched by Iran against Nakhchivan, Azerbaijan.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, European Council President Antonio Costa made this statement during a joint press appearance with President Ilham Aliyev in Baku. Costa emphasized that such actions undermine regional stability and expressed Brussels' firm stance against the provocation directed at Azerbaijani territory.
The incident involving the drone strike on Nakhchivan has raised significant security concerns in the South Caucasus. Nakhchivan, an exclave of Azerbaijan, holds strategic importance and is separated from the main part of the country by Armenian territory. This condemnation from the European Council highlights the growing international attention toward maintaining peace and security in the region, particularly regarding external threats to Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and sovereign borders.
