Azerbaijan will not tolerate the unprovoked acts of terrorism and aggression committed against the country, President Ilham Aliyev stated during a meeting of the Security Council on March 5.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the head of state issued specific instructions to the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan to prepare and implement necessary retaliatory measures in response to recent drone strikes. President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that any threats to the nation's security and territorial integrity would be met with a firm and decisive response.
The Security Council meeting comes amid heightened regional tensions following reports of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attacks targeting Azerbaijani interests. As a key strategic body, the Security Council of Azerbaijan, chaired by the President, is responsible for coordinating national security policy and responding to external military threats. The current mandate for retaliatory action underscores Baku's commitment to defending its borders and ensuring the safety of its citizens against foreign military provocations.
