Prime Minister Ali Asadov chaired a meeting of the Economic Council on Tuesday to discuss the sustainable development of the agricultural sector and strategic goals for the national economy.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the agenda included the current state and development prospects of agriculture, increasing production and productivity, and strengthening food security. Participants also deliberated on expanding agricultural trade and exports, as well as maintaining employment levels in the regions of Azerbaijan. Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov delivered a comprehensive report on the subject, followed by discussions among council members and invited officials.
The Economic Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan, established to ensure economic stability and sustainable growth, regularly reviews sectoral performance to align with the country's long-term development strategy. Agriculture remains a key priority for the government as part of its economic diversification efforts, aiming to reduce dependence on energy exports while ensuring domestic food self-sufficiency and enhancing the country's export potential.
At the conclusion of the meeting, decisions were adopted regarding the further development of the agricultural sector, and Prime Minister Ali Asadov issued specific instructions to the relevant government bodies to ensure the effective implementation of the discussed measures.
