US seeks constructive dialogue and new agreements with Iran

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has addressed the state of relations with Iran during a joint ministerial meeting between the United States and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Rubio, speaking at the summit in Manama, stated that Washington intends to initiate a new phase in its relations with Tehran.

The US Secretary of State emphasized that the United States is prepared for a constructive dialogue aimed at de-escalating tensions and building a relationship based on mutual trust. Rubio noted that reaching new agreements between the parties is of critical importance for ensuring regional stability.

Washington remains committed to continuing diplomatic efforts toward the normalization of relations with Iran, expressing confidence that potential agreements will contribute to long-term stability in the region.

The Gulf Cooperation Council, established in 1981, serves as a key political and economic alliance for the countries of the Persian Gulf. The United States maintains a longstanding strategic partnership with GCC members, focusing on security cooperation, counter-terrorism, and regional stability, making this diplomatic outreach a significant development in Middle Eastern foreign policy.
