A United States delegation has visited Armenia to discuss the implementation of the "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" (TRIPP) project.

Operative Information Center-OMM reported that the press service of the Armenian Cabinet of Ministers confirmed the visit. Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan held meetings with representatives from the US Department of State and the International Development Finance Corporation to review the strategic transit corridor.

The parties discussed operational and legal frameworks for the project, reaching several preliminary agreements. During the meeting, Grigoryan highlighted Armenia's "Crossroads of Peace" initiative, emphasizing the importance of opening regional communication lines. The TRIPP project envisions the creation of a strategic transit corridor through the Syunik region, incorporating railways, highways, oil and gas pipelines, and fiber-optic communication lines. It is expected that the project will be managed by a US company for up to 99 years under Armenian legislation, without any military components, ensuring the project operates within the host country's jurisdiction.

The TRIPP initiative aligns with broader regional efforts to enhance connectivity in the South Caucasus. US President Donald Trump has signaled support for infrastructure projects that promote economic stability and peace in the region. This development comes as Azerbaijan continues to advocate for the opening of regional transport links, which Baku views as a vital component for regional integration and the restoration of historical trade routes following the liberation of its territories in Garabagh.
